FEATURED CHIK: Cassiana JensenMeet Cassiana Jensen, Interior Designer and Founder of Cassiana Jensen Interior Design Inc., whose approach to interior design is rooted in the belief that design isn’t just about aesthetics. Her designs are grounded in neuroscience - she designs with intention, using research-backed principles to create spaces that truly support well-being. Tell us a bit about your company! What do you do? What is your mission? I believe that everyone deserves a space where they feel comfortable, happy, and truly at home - whether they are neurodivergent or neurotypical. My approach to interior design is deeply influenced by neuroscience, focusing on how our surroundings impact mood, stress levels, and overall well-being. By understanding how the brain responds to space, light, and texture, I create environments that support emotional balance, relaxation, and a sense of harmony. My mission is to craft spaces that don’t just look beautiful but also feel right—where every element works in sync with the mind and body, creating a home that nurtures and uplifts every person who steps inside. How did you get started with your business? I’ve been passionate about interior design since I was a little girl, always fascinated by how spaces influence the way we feel. My journey started with industrial design, where I gained expertise in materials, functionality, and furniture creation. Later, I worked in photography, refining my eye for composition, color, and lighting. In 2021, I earned my certification in interior design, and during the COVID period, I built my portfolio by working on online projects and creating 3D renderings. This experience allowed me to refine my skills and develop a deeper understanding of how to bring design concepts to life. By 2022, I was ready to officially launch my business, driven by the belief that interior design is more than just aesthetics—it’s about creating spaces that enhance well-being and truly reflect the people living in them. I see myself as a therapist for spaces, helping clients translate their emotions, needs, and ideas into a home that feels right for them. What do you feel is most important for others to know about your business? The most important thing to know about my business is that what I offer is more than just luxury—it’s a necessity. Interior design isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about creating a home that truly supports the well-being of those who live in it. I design tailored spaces that reflect each client’s unique lifestyle, considering not just their personal style but also their daily routines, family dynamics, and even their pets. My goal is to transform homes into places that enhance comfort, happiness, and functionality, ensuring that every individual—human or otherwise—feels at home. At the heart of my work is the belief that a well-designed space can change lives, bringing balance, harmony, and a sense of belonging to those who live there. How would you describe your leadership style? My leadership style is collaborative and intuitive. I believe in guiding my clients through the design process with clarity, confidence, and empathy, ensuring they feel heard and supported every step of the way. Rather than imposing a vision, I work as a partner and problem solver, helping translate their needs and emotions into a space that truly reflects them. I also take a thoughtful and detail-oriented approach, considering not just aesthetics but how a home can enhance well-being and function for every individual, including families and pets. My ability to combine creativity with strategy allows me to lead with both vision and practicality, ensuring that each project is executed seamlessly while keeping the client’s experience at the center. At the core of my leadership is the belief that a well-designed space has the power to transform lives, and I take that responsibility seriously—guiding, inspiring, and delivering a tailored experience that makes a real difference. When you were growing up, what is your ultimate dream job? If it's this, how does it feel to have met your dream?! If it was something different, how did your dream change over time? Growing up, my ultimate dream was to be an architect because, at the time, interior design wasn’t something widely recognized. Life, however, took me in a different direction, leading me to industrial design, where I developed a deep understanding of materials, functionality, and even furniture creation. Looking back, I believe everything happened at the right time and in the right way. Each step of my journey—industrial design, photography, and later earning my interior design certification—gave me a broader skill set and a deeper appreciation for how design shapes lives. Now, I feel like I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. With all the knowledge I’ve gained along the way, I can do so much more for people—not just designing beautiful spaces, but truly transforming lives. It all makes sense now, and I couldn’t have planned it better if I tried. Every business owner faces challenges. How are you empowered to overcome yours? Every business owner faces challenges, and for me, resilience has been key. As a mother of two who grew up in a difficult environment, I’ve learned to turn adversity into strength. My experiences shaped me into a better mother, a more empathetic person, and a professional who truly understands people on a deeper level. What empowers me the most is self-awareness—understanding myself, my skills, and how I can use them to make a difference. I believe that life is a constant learning opportunity, and we are here to support each other with the gifts we have. I also work with a therapist, which helps me grow, but what truly drives me is my commitment to showing up, learning, and sharing positivity whenever I can. I’m still evolving, still finding new ways to bring value to the world, but I know that by helping others create spaces that nurture their well-being, I’m making a real impact—and that keeps me going. Tell us (in one word) how you would describe your boss-chik business! Transformative Anything else we should know about you, your business, or just a fun fact?! I’m a very creative person who finds joy in all things artistic and hands-on. I love spending time with my friends and family, and when I’m not designing, you’ll probably find me baking delicious desserts, playing the piano, or even singing. I’m also a coffee lover—we have four different ways to brew it at home, and I choose depending on my mood (though I do enjoy a good cup of tea too!). I absolutely love celebrations, especially for my kids, where I go all out—making the desserts, designing the graphics for the decorations, and bringing everything together just to see their happiness. But I don’t stop there—I’m always creating something, whether it’s watercolor painting, embroidery, or any new creative project that sparks my interest. Creativity is simply part of who I am!
