Featured chik: Jamie BohlinMeet Jamie Bohlin, the heart and soul behind Cape Cod Celebrations! As the owner and lead event planner, Jamie brings passion, creativity, and years of experience to every celebration she curates. From intimate beach weddings to large-scale coastal events, her attention to detail and deep love for Cape Cod make each occasion that much more memorable. Tell us a bit about your company! What do you do? What is your mission? As one of the first wedding planning teams on Cape Cod, Cape Cod Celebrations takes pride in our legacy of excellence, creativity, and collaboration. We plan with heart, show up for our clients, our vendors, and each other and consistently deliver exceptional experiences. Together, we continue to set the standard for what it means to be trusted, thoughtful, and truly amazing in the wedding industry on Cape Cod and beyond. How did you get started with your business? I started in the industry back in 2006 when I worked as a catering manager at Chatham Bars Inn, a luxury resort on Cape Cod. I worked there for 2 summers and decided to leave to start my own business. I did have full time and part time jobs while growing the business, but eventually I was able to make it my full time job. My first year I had 4 weddings and now we work around 80 events per year from April-October. My team is made up of 8+ amazing women who have helped me to grow year after year. What do you feel is most important for others to know about your business? What I love about our team is that every one of our planners has industry experience before joining us. Most have worked specifically on Cape Cod, bringing valuable local knowledge and a sense of legacy to the team. We’ve built strong relationships with venues and vendors, and we pride ourselves on those connections and the trust we’ve earned. How would you describe your leadership style? I have a very laid-back, trusting leadership style. I’ve built a team with deep experience, allowing me to confidently trust each member with their own clients. This gives me the freedom to focus on growing the business and serving my own clients, knowing that every wedding my team manages is handled with the utmost professionalism. We also collaborate seamlessly behind the scenes. Whether someone has a question, needs help finding a vendor, or wants emotional support, we’re always there for one another. When you were growing up, what is your ultimate dream job? If it's this, how does it feel to have met your dream?! If it was something different, how did your dream change over time? When I was growing up I was definitely obsessed with weddings, but never thought it was my dream job. My mom used to buy me the huge wedding magazines when we were traveling to keep me busy on the plane and I loved all of the dresses and design. I miss those magazines! I did not go to school for event planning, but I was always organized and the one to gather groups together for parties. Now having been in the industry for 20 years and having my business for 18, I do think this was my dream job, but I just didn't know it yet! Every business owner faces challenges. How are you empowered to overcome yours? Every business owner faces challenges, and I approach mine with a mix of preparation, trust in my team, and adaptability. I’m empowered to overcome obstacles because I’ve built a team I deeply trust. Their expertise allows me to delegate confidently, so even when something unexpected happens, I know we can handle it together. I also stay proactive—planning ahead, nurturing vendor relationships, and constantly refining our processes so we’re ready for anything. And when challenges do arise, I rely on clear communication, flexibility, and a calm, solutions-focused mindset to guide my clients and my team through them. That combination of trust, preparation, and composure is what empowers me most. Tell us (in one word) how you would describe your boss-chik business! Amazing Anything else we should know about you, your business, or just a fun fact?! Fun Fact! We planned Emma MacDonald and Payton Pritchard's wedding last year! I am a Cape Cod native and am so happy to have built a business that allows me to stay here and grow my family here. I love to travel - we go to Europe every year - and I love to row! My husband and I were married on Nantucket (my happy place) 21 years ago and we have a 17 year old boy and 2 cats. Where You Can Find Her: Website | Email | Instagram Comments are closed.
