3/31/2025 Featured Chik: Andrea BaileyWe're excited to introduce you to Andrea Bailey, Founder of Evolving Mind and Body, LLC. Andrea is a Holistic Wellness Practitioner who helps people reconnect with their personal energy to create lasting transformation in their lives. Read on to learn more! ![]() Tell us a bit about your company! What do you do? What is your mission? Evolving Mind and Body, LLC is all about helping people who feel stuck in life reconnect with their mind, body, energy, and nature. I take a holistic approach that blends techniques like mindfulness, movement, Human Design, and energy work to create truly personalized paths to transformation. I also developed Therapeutic Rucking which takes the traditional concept of rucking (walking/hiking with a weighted backpack) and adds a therapeutic twist. In addition to the physical benefits of exercise, therapeutic rucking incorporates elements of mindfulness, nature immersion, and mental health support. It's more than just a workout—it's a holistic wellness practice that nurtures both body and mind. By combining the physical activity of rucking with the healing power of nature and mindfulness techniques, Therapeutic Rucking offers a unique approach to well-being that promotes physical fitness, mental clarity, and emotional resilience. My mission is simple: to guide individuals toward alignment and growth by showing them there isn’t just one way to heal or evolve. I want people to feel empowered to prioritize themselves, embrace their journey, and discover sustainable ways to live fully and authentically. ![]() How did you get started with your business? I have been working in the mental health field for over 15 years in a variety of settings; outpatient, partial hospitalization and schools. During the infamous year of 2020, I was the Program Director for a Therapeutic Day School in Springfield and I thought it would be a good idea to add more to my plate and start my private practice. By trusting my personal authority, I was able to move fully into private practice in 2021. Over the last four years my practice has evolved and still is. What you see today started with a blend of personal experiences and professional passions. Over the years, I’ve worked with people feeling stuck—whether emotionally, mentally, or physically—and I realized that traditional methods, while effective, often miss the bigger picture of who we are as whole humans. My own journey played a big role too. From pushing my limits in endurance events like Spartan and GoRuck to navigating major life transitions like the untimely death of my mother in 2006, fertility struggles and other challenges, I learned the importance of integrating mind, body, energy, and nature. During the Spartan Agoge, we traversed over 70 miles in 62 hours with no sleep. I learned a lot about myself during that time. Those experiences inspired me to create something unique—an approach that feels personal, transformative, and aligned. Evolving Mind and Body, LLC was born because I wanted a space where people could reconnect with themselves in ways that felt empowering and lasting. It’s been incredible to blend my professional expertise with what I’ve learned personally and watch clients truly evolve. What do you feel is most important for others to know about your business? The most important thing for others to know is that my business is about meeting people where they are and helping them evolve in a way that feels authentic and achievable for them. It’s not about a one-size-fits-all approach—everything I do is tailored to the individual, blending tools like mindfulness, movement, Human Design, and nature-based practices. My goal is to create a space where people feel supported, seen, and empowered to make meaningful changes that truly stick. It’s not just about healing; it’s about transformation on every level—mind, body, and energy. ![]() How would you describe your leadership style? I’d say my leadership style is collaborative and supportive. I believe in leading by example and empowering others to play to their strengths. For me, it’s about creating an environment where people feel safe to share ideas, take risks, and grow, all while staying aligned with a clear vision. I’m also very adaptable—whether it’s stepping in to guide or stepping back to let someone else shine, I aim to do what’s best for the team and the goal. Ultimately, I value authenticity and connection in leadership—it’s about the people as much as the outcomes. When you were growing up, what is your ultimate dream job? If it's this, how does it feel to have met your dream?! If it was something different, how did your dream change over time? My ultimate dream job was to be the antagonist in a horror film. I loved the (now looking back, very cheesy) movie "Urban Legends" and thought I could act the hell out of that psycho killer role. While this isn't quite the role I was dreaming of, my passion for helping others has brought so much joy into my life. I get to connect with people deeply and watch them shift their mindset and move into self-love by making themselves a priority in their own lives. I still get the opportunity to share my story and views through published writings, and on stage to speak to varying sizes of audiences. Every business owner faces challenges. How are you empowered to overcome yours? Great question. For me, challenges are opportunities to grow, even when they’re uncomfortable. I’ve learned to approach them holistically, just like I do with my clients. Whether it’s managing time, navigating personal transitions and obstacles, or staying inspired, I lean into practices that align my mind, body, and energy. I focus on staying grounded—whether it’s a mindful walk in nature or journaling to process my thoughts. I also trust in my support system and don’t hesitate to seek advice or delegate when needed. Challenges will always come, but I remind myself that I have the tools, resilience, and adaptability to handle them—and that’s incredibly empowering. Tell us (in one word) how you would describe your boss-chik business! Transformative Anything else we should know about you, your business, or just a fun fact?! I was born and raised on a small farm in North Carolina, lived in Missouri and South Carolina before settling in Massachusetts. I am the mother of a 13 year old daughter, Kegan, who is my greatest "why" I keep striving to be the best version of me I can be, today. Currently, my husband of 23 years and I are in the process of uncoupling via divorce. That is a whole book in itself. Speaking of books. I am a published author in Self-Love Mavin Magazine (all editions) and a collaborating author in A Woman's Journey: Postpartum Healing and BMI: Beautiful Mavin Index. I was featured on the Inspiration Stage in 2024 at the Boston Outdoor Expo and will be speaking on a panel discussion at the Boston Outdoor Expo on March 1-2, 2025. I also hold a slew of acronyms: LMCH, MBE, RM, CFL1, FFI, CCATP, CMNCS. What can I say, I love learning. Where You Can Find Her Website | Instagram | Facebook | LinkedIn
