We are honored to introduce you to the owner of JayMaePhotography, Jordan Machowski. Jordan is born and raised in Western Mass and shoots everything from weddings to portraits to landscapes. Read on to learn more about her!

Tell us a bit about your company! What do you do? What is your mission?
I am the owner of my photography business and my mission is to help everyone feel as beautiful as they are. Everyone deserves to have photos to make their moments into memories you'll never forget.

How did you get started with your business?
I started dabbling with photography in high school and it kind of just took off from there! I started a social media page on a whim to show off my work and all of a sudden I had people coming to me looking for photos. Only a few at first but it just grew and grew!

What do you feel is most important for others to know about your business?
That my business is a woman owned business despite my first name, that I make every shoot as fun as possible :)

How would you describe your leadership style?
I would say that I like to have a game plan no matter what so I can make my shoots more laid back and with as little stress as possible for my client as well as myself.

When you were growing up, what is your ultimate dream job? If it's this, how does it feel to have met your dream?! If it was something different, how did your dream change over time?
My ultimate job was to become a nurse! I am currently in nursing school and working toward that dream while creating yet another dream of mine which was a totally unexpected plan! But sometimes those unexpected options are the best to follow.

Every business owner faces challenges. How are you empowered to overcome yours?
I think that being a business owner without a degree in business or management can be very tough. I know nothing about owning a business other than my own. I told myself that this is MY business and I'm going to run it the way that I see fit as well as the way that works best for my clients. Which means creating a safe space, creating a fun space, and keeping my business and shoots as stress free as possible for everyone involved.

​Anything else we should know about you, your business, or just a fun fact?!
I love to create an artistic and safe space for all of my clients to either regain their self love or continue it. Showing new clients that everyone deserves to have photos and anyone can look good in front of a camera is so empowering. I love helping people love themselves!
