The Women’s Fund of Western Massachusetts is partnering with guest facilitator Daisy Pereira-Tosado to offer a workshop on evaluating and reinvigorating diversity, equity, and inclusion practices at local organizations on November 9, 2021, from 1:00–3:00 PM EST. Learn more and register below! This workshop centers on organizations seeking to evaluate existing practices that may create barriers for gender-diverse and women leaders who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).
Workshop participants will leave this workshop with tools to establish and strengthen the groundwork for gender and racial equity within their organization. These tools will help participants champion BIPOC women and gender-diverse leaders' success, longevity, and contributions to the organization. Guest facilitator Pereira-Tosado adds, “For far too long, BIPOC gender diverse and women leaders have been expected to quietly survive in a work environment that was not created with them in mind. It is time to dismantle inequitable systems and build practices and structures that lend to our success.” This interactive workshop will help participants explore and examine inequitable policies including recruitment, hiring, orientation, training, dress codes, work schedules, and performance evaluations. Participants will also assess their organization’s institutional climate, from staff to board members to donors, to ensure that they can develop a leadership pipeline that welcomes all voices including gender-diverse and BIPOC staff.
