With the end of summer approaching— we’re starting to see a lot more fall decor pop up in stores as well as pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING! The only problem is that we're still struggling from the intense summer heat. This pumpkin pie martini will keep you cool during the remaining summer months while delighting your taste buds with a classic fall favorite: pumpkin pie! The best part of this martini is that now you don’t have to wait 3 months until Thanksgiving to have your pumpkin pie fix. You’ll need: 2 parts RumChata Cream Liqueur 1 part vanilla vodka 1 part pumpkin liqueur (or 3 tbsp. pumpkin pie filling) Directions: Combine the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice, shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Then sprinkle cinnamon on top for garnish. ENJOY! Don't forget to let us know how you made out with this recipe and make sure to comment and share some of your favorite fall inspired concoctions on our Facebook page! Until next time, chiks! Blog by Editorial Contributor Shahd Abulhassan ![]() Chiks, it’s officially July! One of my favorite parts during the summer months is time I get to spend with family or friends by the water with a nice summer drink. Whether it’s by the pool, at the beach or even inside on a rainy day, I always enjoy a nice cold glass of lemonade. Almost everyone will agree that the epitome of summer is relishing in nice fruity drinks in the warm sunshine. The Blueberry Lemonade Margarita takes everyone’s favorite summer drink and ties in some fresh fruit with a little bit of a kick. Blueberries can be switched out for other fruit you have on hand, such as peaches, strawberries or raspberries. This fun twist on a classic lemonade is perfect for a backyard BBQs or a relaxing pool day and is sure to be a hit. You’ll need: Makes 4 (For 1 serving) FOR THE SYRUP 1/2 c. granulated sugar (2 tbsp) 1/2 c. water (2 tbsp) 1 c. blueberries (1/4 cup) Zest of 1 lime (1/4) FOR THE MARGARITA 2 tbsp. kosher salt (1/2 tbsp) 2 tbsp. granulated sugar (1/2 tbsp) 1 lemon, cut into wedges (1 wedge) 8 oz. tequila (2 oz) 4 oz. triple sec (1 oz) 3 oz. lemonade (.75 oz) Ice Directions: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water and stir until sugar has dissolved. Add blueberries and lime zest and bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer mixture until blueberries have burst, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes, then strain mixture into a clean jar. Let cool completely. On a small plate, stir together sugar and salt. Rim each glass with a lime wedge, then dip in sugar salt mixture. Divide tequila, triple sec and lemonade between 4 glasses. Fill each glass with ice, then top with blueberry syrup. Garnish with a lemon wedge and serve. ENJOY! Don't forget to let us know how you made out with this recipe and make sure to comment and share some of your favorite summer concoctions on our Facebook page! Until next time, chiks! Blog by Editorial Contributor Shahd Abulhassan ![]() With the renewal of spring upon us, it’s the perfect time to get inspired with something that’s lightweight, easy to make and on top of that delicious! Yes, it’s margarita time! I’m not preaching about just any margaritas— I’m talking about a good old fashioned homemade Watermelon Margarita! YUM! I was inspired yesterday by this Howcast.com video and I couldn’t get over how easy it was to make. It was also a special day, my birthday, so I figured what better way to celebrate with family than to make a batch of freshly prepared watermelon margaritas out back on the deck while enjoying the beautiful weather. I headed out to my local grocery store and here are the ingredients I purchased. Now, you can use variations that you have on hand at home or go step by step on the list of items added with the video. Either way, I promise you these drinks will be a crowd pleaser! You'll need:
Here's the video ingredients: 2 oz Blanco Tequila; .75 lime juice; .75 Agave Nectar. Shake and strain into rocks glass over fresh ice. Top with 2 oz watermelon juice. The prep time took about 10 minutes to juice the limes and blend up the watermelon. It's less than five minutes to put together each cocktail. ENJOY! Don't forget to let us know how you made out with this recipe and make sure to comment and share some of your favorite concoctions on our Facebook page! Until next time, chiks!
