We are excited to introduce you to Danielle Shaughnessey, a photographer based out of Western Mass! She specializes in all sorts of photography from weddings & events, to family and newborn photography. Read on to learn more!

Tell us a bit about your company! What do you do? What is your mission? 
Danielle Shaughnessey Photography is a photography studio located in Wilbraham, MA. I photograph weddings, events, high school seniors, sports, schools, families, businesses, and newborns. I provide high quality photography and excellent customer service.

How did you get started with your business? 
I'm a third generation professional photographer. It is in my blood! After having my children, I was able to practice my skills more and decided to follow in the footsteps of my family and start my own business.

What do you feel is most important for others to know about your business? 
I feel that it is important for others to know that having your picture taken doesn't have to be intimidating! My goal is to make my subject feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible, allowing me to capture the moment in a fun and natural way.

How would you describe your leadership style? 
I try to make every interaction positive and supportive. In this industry, each situation is very unique. Being able to read the environment and provide guidance and support as needed is definitely something I pride myself in.

When you were growing up, what is your ultimate dream job? If it's this, how does it feel to have met your dream?! If it was something different, how did your dream change over time? 
"Do what you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life." I had heard that saying so many times growing up. I didn't think making photography a career would be realistic for me. It is a very saturated, artistic industry. I didn't know if I had what it takes to stand out. I feel so incredibly proud and lucky to be able to have my passion become a career.

Every business owner faces challenges. How are you empowered to overcome yours? 
I have had to completely change my mindset. Challenges are not failures. I see them as learning experiences that will make me stronger and more experienced!

Anything else we should know about you, your business, or just a fun fact?! 
Danielle Shaughnessey Photography co-owns The Corner Studio alongside Deb Hanna Photography. We are fortunate to both have our own individual businesses allowing us to provide community outreach through The Corner Studio. We proudly raise funds for a local children's museum and volunteer our time at school functions, and charities.
